Item 1
Lapland is one of Europe’s last true wilderness areas. Vast forests, rolling hills and endless skies create a landscape where nature still sets the pace.
At Ranch Kuulas, horseback riding is the traditional way to explore this landscape. Our Finnhorses are calm, reliable trail horses that know the terrain well.
During this retreat you will ride along forest trails, across open landscapes and through peaceful wilderness areas. Between rides you can relax at the ranch, enjoy meals prepared at our log-built restaurant and experience Finnish sauna culture.
Many guests say this experience allows them to truly slow down and reconnect with nature.
Item 2
Day 1 – Arrival & Evening Ride
Arrival to Ranch Kuulas (self-arrival or transfer can be arranged with us). Check in to your countryside accommodation and settle into the peaceful surroundings.
In the evening, enjoy a dinner prepared with local ingredients.
After dinner, head out for a 2-hour ride under the Midnight Sun (summer) or a magical Moonlight Ride (autumn), experiencing the quiet beauty of Lapland in soft evening light.
Day 2 – Trail Ride & Forest Lunch
Breakfast at the ranch.
At 11:00, depart for a 4-hour guided trail ride through forests and natural landscapes. During the ride, enjoy a lunch by the fire in the forest.
Return to the ranch in the afternoon and relax before enjoying dinner in the evening.
Day 3 – Morning & Horse Activity
Breakfast at the ranch.
Enjoy a final horse-related activity, offering a deeper connection with the Finnhorses and a calm ending to your stay.

- This camp is designed for advanced riders who can ride all gaits. Non riders are also welcome, ask more!

Ranch Kuulas is a working Finnish ranch just outside Rovaniemi.
We welcome guests year-round and share daily life with our Finnhorses.
About us
We are a small working ranch outside Rovaniemi, where we live and work with Finnhorses throughout the year. Our riding takes place on forest trails and open terrain shaped by the northern seasons, using Finland’s native horse breed known for its strength, steady temperament, and long history.
We guide our rides in small groups and match each horse carefully to the rider’s experience. Alongside riding, we prepare meals at Restaurant Loimu in a wood-fired oven and are opening farmhouse-style accommodation in summer 2026 for guests who want to stay longer in a quiet rural setting.
