At Ranch Kuulas, food connects people — to the land, the animals, and the traditions of Lapland. Our philosophy is simple: cook locally, serve from the heart, and let the fire do its magic.

Loimu takes pride in serving traditional Finnish dishes made from pure, seasonal ingredients that are carefully sourced from nearby forests, lakes, and small farms. Each dish speaks of simplicity, authenticity, and thoughtful care. Complement your meal with a glass of wine or a local craft beer for a complete taste of Lapland.

Meals at Loimu are meant to be unhurried and atmospheric, enjoyed by candlelight in a warm, rustic setting. The restaurant is often combined with horse riding, sleigh rides or other Ranch Kuulas experiences, making dining an essential part of the overall visit

The Ranch & Our Way of Working

Ranch Kuulas is a working Finnish ranch just outside Rovaniemi.
We welcome guests year-round and share daily life with our Finnhorses.

About us

We are a small working ranch outside Rovaniemi, where we live and work with Finnhorses throughout the year. Our riding takes place on forest trails and open terrain shaped by the northern seasons, using Finland’s native horse breed known for its strength, steady temperament, and long history.

We guide our rides in small groups and match each horse carefully to the rider’s experience. Alongside riding, we prepare meals at Restaurant Loimu in a wood-fired oven and are opening farmhouse-style accommodation in summer 2026 for guests who want to stay longer in a quiet rural setting.
